The Two Chefs Inn is located above the Two Chefs Bar & Grill on the main road that runs through Kata, only 200 m from Kata Beach. The location of the hotel could not be better!
When I arrived
Check in is easy. I was welcomed with a refreshingly cold and fragrant towel and a glass of cold orange juice. My luggage was collected from the minivan and taken to the restaurant, and then up to my room.
Rooms
I stayed in a superior sea view room on the second level (Level B). The sliding door opens onto a big joined terrace that overlooks Kata beach in the distance.
The room is quite spacious and includes an air conditioning unit, a large fridge with a minibar, a cabinet with drawers, a closet with a safe and a small desk and chair. There is also tea and coffee making facilities (kettle, cups, and glasses). The kettle comes in handy if you want to boil water for a noodle cup you picked up from the Family Mart just down the street!
Attached to the room is a small bathroom with a wash basin, toilet, and a shower. Cleaners light a fragrant candle in the bathroom every day, releasing a wonderful scent.
You receive free bottles of water every day and towels and beach towels are provided.
Breakfast
Breakfast ordered from an a la carte menu, is included in the room rate and served every morning in the Two Chefs Bar & Grill. Six options are available: a basic breakfast without eggs, an omelet, a full English breakfast to oatmeal or yogurt with fruit. Each option includes tea or coffee and orange juice, and a bread basket with sweet preserves.
I recommend the full English breakfast! It’s tasty with a great selection that will keep to full until lunchtime. (P.S. As I’m a vegetarian, I gave my meat to my husband and he gave me his veggies. Good trade!)
Facilities
Great restaurant with an a la carte breakfast menu. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner (hotel guests receive a 15 % discount off their lunch and dinner bills).
Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.
Daily housekeeping keeps your room tidy and clean – complimentary toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner) are replenished and towels replaced.
Staff members
The staff at the Two Chefs Inn is friendly and helpful. They are especially helpful with arranging transport from the hotel to the airport.
What I didn’t like:
The Two Chefs Bar & Grill has live music acts that can last until 12pm, it can be noisy. But that wasn’t really a problem for me.
What I liked best:
The beautiful sea view from my bed!
The close proximity to Kata beach, only a couple of hundred meters.
Breakfast is tasty!
Would I stay here again?
Yes. The location is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is delicious. It is great value for money!
Tip
The tiles on the terrace and stairs get very slippery when wet. Stick to the rough grit between the tiles!
